Chicago is well on its way in getting ready to host the Gay Games VII this summer. Some competition slots have already been closed, and the late registration period for all sports & culture programs will close at midnight, on Thursday June, 15.
The 2006 Gay Games organization also announced Cindy Lauper to perform during the closing ceremony. The Gay Games VII takes place from 15-22 July 2006 with events throughout Chicago and its surrounding metro area including Oak Park, Evanston and Crystal Lake. The closing ceremony is Saturday, 22 July 2006, at Wrigley Field, home to baseball’s legendary Chicago Cubs. The opening ceremony is Saturday, 15 July 2006, at Soldier Field. Tickets to both ceremonies as well as the ticketed sports and cultural events are on sale now at the official 2006 Gay Games website. Cindy Lauper joins a slate of more than 60 music, television, arts, culture and sports legends from around the world performing in the 2006 Gay Games Opening & Closing Ceremonies.
At age 52 Cyndi Lauper has embarked on a new career, morphing into something new: Cyndi Lauper, Broadway Star.
Igor was born in Florence from Sicilian parents, and despite his Russian-like name, that makes him as Italian as it gets. Igor is 26 years old and makes his living as a graphic web designer, working in a small web agency in Florence. One day he hopes to be able to work for himself, freelance. Working in the art business, and living in the city of arts… this should not be a problem. A little vain he is, but then again, aren’t we all. One of Igor’s charms however lays in the fact that eventhough he is a little vain, he is more shy, and likely to blush whenever he gets a compliment. Igor stands 1,74m tall, and weights 70kg, indications of a healthy and fit body, which he keeps by daily working out and swimming sessions. He also likes to dance and those of you lucky enough to live in the surroundings in Florence might have seen him performing in some local dance clubs until recently, when he decided to stop. He likes his art, he likes to draw, he likes to read. Now we don’t want to turn this into a personal announcement, but Igor does sound like a good catch to us… He is attracted to masculine fit guys with big hearts, romantic souls and presentable…someone he can come home with. If you think you have something interesting to say, and some nice photos of yourself to share, send us an email, and you could also appear, like Igor, in Beautiful-U.
Ernest Collins. Originally from Chicago, he came to Paris for a vacation and stayed there ever since. Using Paris as his base, he travels all over the world, creating miracles with his camera. Ernest’s photos are breath taking in their compositions. Intense, sensational and full of emotion. Ernest has what it takes, that little bit of magic, that makes his art unique in it’s beauty and expression. Last Wednesday we introduced you to this talented photographer. Today we continue his story.
During your colorful career, we are sure some exceptional moment have occurred. Can you tell us about one of the funniest things that happened during your shootings?
Ernest: Probably walking in on Michael, in the shower… ☺ He quickly put me out.
And the most embarrassing?
Ernest: I did a job once and the assistant loaded all the film in reverse. The next day we got back from the lab 80 rolls of black film.
Just imagine we would give you 100,000 euros. What would you do?
Ernest: I think I would like to create a quality fashion magazine for black men in the European community. There are none…
Can you describe us the scene you would create if you had absolute freedom in deciding what and who to shoot?
Ernest: It would be in Africa, and I would love to do a fashion story in the dessert.
What does the near future bring for Ernest Collins? In other words, can you tell us about your upcoming projects?
Ernest: Yes. I will be going to Senegal soon. After that Chicago and Florida. I do enjoy traveling, so I try to do it as much as possible.
What message would you like to give to all Beautiful readers?
Ernest: Live your dream. There are no boundaries in life. Whatever you are, know that you are the best!
We end our interview with Ernest Collins here, but guarantee you that we will have more of his work on Beautiful in the future. If you like to see more of Ernest's work, you can visit his website Ernest Collins.com. We want to thank Ernest for his cooperation.
Madonna kicked off the North American leg of her "Confessions" world tour last Sunday night with one of her favorite stunts - controversy! During her performance at The Forum in Los Angeles, Madonna appeared, hanging from a 20 foot mirrored cross and chicly wearing a crown of thorns. Of course, this resulted in the usual outrage from the same ol' tired Christian groups and then was followed by the usual media outlet frenzy on a slow news day - playing right into Madge's clever marketing plan.
