LAST WEEK WEDNESDAY WE INTRODUCED YOU TO THE BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPHY OF TIM RICKS, A BLACK AMERICAN PHOTOGRAPHER FROM LOS ANGELES. TODAY WE GIVE YOU MORE.
Tim shared so much beautiful work with us that, instead of making a small selection, we decided to share it all with you. Hence this article in two parts. Tim loves movement and odd poses best. He sees the world as not perfect, so he shoots non perfect images. He definitely has a thing for dingy, low saturated colors and non conventional lighting.
The ‘Feather Series’ represent freedom to be one's self. Shedding all of your worldly possessions and being left with your own skin and throwing all of you worries away like feathers.
The ‘Dance Series’ was just having fun with many of the props Tim has at the studio. It is pure soul. Together with the model he spent a full day bouncing around and working with dramatic lighting. It came out to look like a masquerade dance.
More of Tim Ricks can be seen on his own website and on his Modellaunch portfolio. –B-
