Justin Monroe was born in the Midwest U.S. but resides currently in Los Angeles, where he has built his web of known stylists and Art directors that is quickly spreading out through the world of international fashion photography. In short time, Justin’s unique images has given him a name known in every continent. Justin is talented. He is also a very nice guy, supportive and easy to talk to. So, logically, when we asked him "Who is Justin Monroe," he answered:

Justin, you are obviously an admirer of male and female beauty. What does the ideal man look like according to Justin Monroe?
Justin: Physical strength, sexually confident, funny, and just a bit nerdy.
Is this a professional or a personal opinion?
Justin: Personal ;)
How did your career take off and when did you decide to become a photographer?
Justin: I grew up like a carney. With both parents musicians, we were on the road all the time. My favorite toy was a plastic camera. I would create stories and scenarios about people and places around me. The camera did not even take real pictures but I had their story all logged in my memory. Then for my 11th birthday my parents bought me an old Minolta. I was hooked ! Both my parents encouraged my artistic abilities. I don't feel like I consciously ever decided to become a photographer. It just was. I got my formal education at the Pasadena Art center. I guess that’s when it started to take off.
Are there any other photographers you admire or who inspire you?
Justin: Mert Ellis and Mark Piggo. Steven Klein. Ellen Voneunworth. David Lachapelle. And of course Richard Avedon.
How would you describe your style?
Justin: Crazy, sexually blatant, fun, and not safe. –B-
