OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE ENCOUNTERED MANY MODELS - BECOME - PHOTOGRAPHERS, BUT RARELY EVER SOMEONE WHO CONSCIOUSLY DECIDED TO MOVE FROM BEHIND THE CAMERA IN FRONT. IN FACT, THINKING ABOUT IT, FARHAD Z. MIGHT AS WELL BE THE VERY FIRST ONE. ALREADY THAT FACT TRIGGERED OUR CURIOSITY. THE ARTIST THAT BECOMES A PIECE OF ART. THAT AND THE FACT THAT HE WAS ATTRACTED TO THE STYLE OF THOMAS SYNNAMON FOR EXACTLY THE SAME REASONS AS WE ARE.
After spending over 10 years behind a motion picture camera, Farhad Z. decided late last year to go ahead and explore the world of modeling, meaning being in front of someone else’s camera instead of being behind. It kind of was a rule breaking though, but that isn’t completely alien for the Iranian-American born New Yorker. Having Godard, Resnais and Bunuel as his cinematic heroes, Farhad has always been some sort of a rebel, someone who likes to express himself through imagery in unconventional ways. An interesting notion if you consider that Farhad always has had some kind of creative control, which he gave up by standing in front of the camera, or, as he describes himself, “be the brush stroke in the painting as opposed to the artist.”

Farhad Z. and Thomas Synnamon found each other through the ModelMayhem website. Farhad was immediately attracted by Thomas’unique style onto his photographs: “His use of lighting and interplay with color was also something I was eager to be a part of - erotic yet not vulgar, soft yet also quite magnetic.”

Having hardly spoken to each other, both men agreed to meet for a photo session in Thomas’ apartment, an experience Farhad Z. is not likely to forget anytime soon: “It was a bit daunting to meet someone who is practically a stranger and go to their space - not for sex - but to be photographed nearly naked... I entered his apartment which did not ease my tensions because it was dimly lit and he had his "studio" setup in front of a giant window (which was blocked). But the whole experience was strangely exhilarating as well because I do consider myself somewhat of an exhibitionist (although under controlled settings -- in the locker room at the gym I am the guy changing quickly in the corner). So as the clothes came off, so did my unease and we ended up getting some amazing images....” –B-
THOMAS SYNNAMON | BEAUTIFUL
FARHAD Z. | BEAUTIFUL

Wow. Thank goodness for this sexy photographer deciding he wanted to step in front of the camera. He's beautiful and a welcomed sight for those of us who enjoy handsome hairy men who've done great with the body they were born.

It's nice to see not everything has to be young, and hairless to be beautiful. I find it absolutely stunning Mr. Farhad Z. and Mr. Thomas Synnamon

Love to see more of Farhad's work. Quite artistic and at the same time sexy. Love the work especially it is greatly inspiring for Middle eastern like Iranians to express themselves openly like this.
