BRAZILIAN BORN AND SAN DIEGO BASED PHOTOGRAPHER WANDER AGUIAR HAS VARIOUSLY BEEN A CIVIL ENGINEER, MODEL AND PAINTER AND HIS PHOTOGRAPHIC WORK REFLECTS SIMILAR ECLECTICISM AND SPONTANEITY. WANDER IS A MAN WHO LIKES CHALLENGES AND THE FREEDOM TO CREATE. AND CREATING IS WHAT HE DOES BEST.
Ever since he was a young boy in Brazil, Wander Aguiar has been fascinated with people and how they are captured in the art of photography. Wander himself began shooting vacation photos of family members at the early age of 12, and hasn’t stopped shooting since. His subjects changed a bit though.
At the age of 17, Wander began modeling for clothing campaigns and runway shows, an experience that allowed him to study professional photographers and their work with the human body. Currently Wander resides in San Diego where he dedicates all of his time to his own photography. About his approach, Wander says: "I try to use my experience as a former model to bring the best on each one I work with, be a model is beyond to have a beautiful face you have to perform and show a different personality/attitude no matter what you have on." Admitting his marriage with the art of photography Wander Aguiar shoots beauty, fashion, editorial and fine art. "My set is always easy going, no divas allowed doesn’t matter how famous the model is they all are treated with the same respect and professionalism as the new guy."
Wander Aguiar has seen his work being published on several blogs and sites as well as in printed magazines and on covers in London, Barcelona, Australia and Brazil. He also shot campaigns for men’s swimwear brands like Ami Sanzuri and – recently – Iqoniq [Challenge Your Fear with Iqoniq Swimwear]. The photos we present here today are a preview from Wander’s upcoming photo book. –B-

WANDER AGUIAR | BEAUTIFUL

Christopher and Gustavo look like two beautiful creatures washed ashore and captured in black and white by Wandar.
As I walk the beach each morning I will keep an eye out for such specimens.
