WHEN YOU SEE SO MUCH PHOTOGRAPHIC WORK AS WE DO, AND WORK WITH SO MANY DIFFERENT PHOTOGRAPHERS, YOU INEVITABLE GET TO THE POINT THAT YOU START TO RECOGNIZE CERTAIN STYLES AND SIGNATURES. SO WHEN WE RECEIVED THIS SERIES OF PHOTOS, FEATURING DANIEL G. WE WERE NOT SURPRISED TO SEE THEY WERE BY THE HAND OF TIM RICKS, EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE NOT PUBLISHED TIM FOR SOME TIME ALREADY. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE ARE HAPPY TO SEE TIM BACK ON THE BEAUTIFULMAG PAGES.
We published first about Los Angeles based photographer Tim Ricks and his fantastic work back in 2006, when we presented you a selection of some stunning series Tim had recently done. We started to follow Tim’s career and work from that moment and came to realize that the men he portrays somehow have certain looks in common. Take Andres for example, or Daniel Norell. Two handsome men we featured in 2007 and who both have that serene masculine look and a certain sensuality that we have come to know as typical in Tim’s work. His work with Daniel G. is no different, and who are we to complain.
Daniel G. is aspiring to be a big name in the fashion and film industry. Although currently working as a model, he has his mind set upon a career either in fashion photography or acting. Or why not both. Because Daniel is a motivated and driven guy, a hard worker who always delivers what he commits to. It might be because of this determination that some think Daniel is unapproachable, but quite the opposite is true. He is a genuinely kind guy, corny and down to earth. He loves to hang out with people who are close to his heart and just let the good times roll. He works out daily – hence his nice physics – but once awhile he splurges on some Dorritos. After all, he is only human, as we all are. Daniel G. is a man with many interests. He loves to travel (Cuba is one of his favorite destinations), read about health and nutrition, play with his nieces and nephew and learn about life. Serious as he is, he intends to make the things he wants from life happen, and bring a smile to our face. –B-
