Real Romans come from New Jersey

THE ROMAN KINGDOM, REPUBLIC AND EMPIRE EXISTED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME THAT LASTED MORE THEN 1,200 YEARS AND HAS LEFT AN INDELIBLE PRINT ON OUR HISTORY AND OUR CURRENT LIVES. FEW OTHER CIVILIZATIONS SPEAK SO MUCH TO OUR IMAGINATION AS ANCIENT ROME, WHICH, AT ITS PEAK, INCLUDED MOST OF EUROPE, NORTHERN AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST. THE PERIOD IS KNOWN FOR ITS HIGHLY DEVELOPED CIVILIZATION, INFRA STRUCTURE AND OF COURSE THE STRONG CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ROMAN MEN, PHYSICAL FEATURES THAT YOU CAN STILL FIND IN THE ANCESTORS OF THESE ONCE SO POWERFUL PEOPLE.

The ancient Romans were far superior over other civilizations of their time, which gave them the opportunity to expand their territory in a rapid period of time. The Romans went everywhere and mixed with all other races. No wonder that you can still find, up to today, the strong physical features of  what we believe to be typical Roman in men and women all over the world. New Jersey for example.

Early this year we already learned that Mario Campanaro is second generation American, born in a family who descends from a grandfather who emigrated from Napoli to the new world only a few decades ago. Mario is a beautiful man who is gifted with those typical physical characteristics that we always try to link to the classic Romans and that are so magnificently portrayed in these photos by Geof Teague. And even though his family originates from Puglia, Mario seems to be a true Roman, exploring his new world as his ancestors once did in Europe: fierce and determined. If Mario Campanaro had lived in Ancient Rome, he most likely would have been an athlete in the Circus Maximus, or a glorious gladiator in one of the amphi theaters. Having a high level of creativity in his DNA, Mario can be found on movie sets or center stage in Broadway and off-Broadway plays. When we talked to Mario he old us a new project might be in the making. He couldn’t tell us that much, was told to keep his mouth shut, which for an Italian boy from NJ is not such an easy thing to do. His words, not ours…

But there is more to Mario than acting. As a fervent admirer of all that is beautiful – kind of like us – he is planning to take photography classes. So maybe in the near future we can see more from Mario than just his beautiful self. Ready to unleash his creative juices he is searching for the right way to express himself. A journey that both scares and excites him at the same time. Roman emperors must have felt the same when embarking on another campaign. Mario has strong believes on what moves his life and drives his choices: "Life is about learning and stepping outside of the box to grow. Sometimes it may take a shot of tequila other times it may take a push from a friend or a hug from mom and dad, but it will be done. It’s interesting that the things that once seemed like the only thing in the world suddenly become A thing in the world, and one's lens changes and you gotta learn the world from a whole new perspective...like being a kid again."

His determination is not the only thing that reminds of the ancient Romans. Like them, Mario has a good appetite for Italian food. As mentioned before, his family originates from Puglia which is an area in the southern part of Italy, known for its refined food, that Mario just loves. Both to eat and to cook. He also loves to travel, and even though he didn’t yet have so much possibilities, he is determined to make that happen soon. And when he does, he is sure to visit a museum and a zoo or two, admiring all that feeds his creativity and inspiration. Yes, Mario Campanaro is an adventurer and it is clear that pure Roman blood flows through his veins. –B-

I'm insist: BEAUTIFUL is one of the most interisting sites on the WEB about Gay's Life & Style... ButIt is not that it was years ago...
