Creating Art with Simon Le and Tim Perry

If we consider old pottery that we find while digging in the ground, objects of art, knowing that they were most probably once made for the simple reason of practical usage, you might want to wonder what the real difference is between industrial or commercial designed objects and - well - art. According to Australian photographer Simon Le, art should be considered according to four very basic definitions, which he calls the 4 P's: Patience, Perseverance, Positive Thinking and Passion.

It is in fact really simple. If Picasso would have made a painting with no other reason or inspiration than the fact he had some extra time and a left over of paint, it it just a bit of color on a canvas. But if your neighbor would build a piece of furniture that is driven by the need of inspiration and perfectioned by passion, it is a true piece of art. The same goes for photography. When we see a naked body on a dark background we 'ooh' and 'aah' and call it art, but when we see the right model wearing the right ensemble, shot in a perfect environment, light and pose, we see nothing more than fashion or catalog photography. So let's look a little bit further.

Simon Le has dedicated his life to the 4 P's and by doing so he has found an experience in creating art in anything he does. Even though his passion is male photography you find in his portfolio also examples of women, theater, landscape and travel photography. Each single portrait executed with that same passion, that same patience and that same positiveness.

The 24-years old Tim Perry only models since May 2009, but don't let that fool you.  Over the last five years he has nourished and trained his body into a state of perfection, with that same patience and perseverance as Michelangelo sculpted his David. So when the opportunity came, Tim was as ready as he could be. Two years ago Tim swapped the traditional English country side of Oxford for Sydney's Northern Beaches, where he now lives and works as Personal trainer and Sports Remedial Massage Therapist. Shooting with Simon Le was a new experience for Tim being it the very first professional shoot he had ever done. And it is a perfect example of when artist and art come together. -B-

Simon's four P's of patience, perseverance, positive thinking, and passion are applicable not only to art, but to all endeavors in life as well. To be successful in whatever career path you choose, the four P's are an essential ingredient.

Luckily for us, the gorgeous Tim Perry is following the four P's in his budding career as a model, trainer, and therapist. This has brought him into contact with the great Simon Le, and the artwork resulting from their interaction is a beautiful sight to behold.

I just read the specification of the terms Art and Artist...but i don´t see the reflection of this concepts in the photos, so?
I sugest read the book Duchamp du signe, by this remarkable truly "ARTIST" of the past century. I can also put in line other titles in line.
