SALVATOR POZO LIVES BY SOME REALLY STRONG BELIEVES. HE STRIVES FOR PERFECTION, THE ULTIMATE. HE BELIEVES IN TAKING THE BEST THAT EXISTS AND THAN MAKING IT EVEN BETTER. AND IF IT DOESN’T EXISTS, HE CREATES IT. HENCE THE CREATION OF THE SALVATOR POZO LIMITED EDITION WALL CALENDAR 2011.
Is it strange to highlight a calendar by the end of January? Not in the case of Salvator Pozo. The twelve portraits Salvator dedicated to the year 2011 are jewels, each single one of them. The fact that each page comes with a clear month table is merely an useful addition. The real beauty of this piece lies in Salvator careful selection of twelve stunning men shot in poses and against backgrounds that are so characteristic for Salvator Pozo’s style.
Let’s take a quick look back to October 2010. It was then when we introduced you for the first time to Salvator Pozo. Born in Madrid in 1968, Salvator moved to The Netherlands in 15 years ago, hoping this country would offer him more possibilities for an international career. A move that soon turned out to be a smart decision, considering Salvator is currently active as photographer for more than 90 different international brands. His work has been published in magazines in Australia, Mexico, Spain, The Netherlands, Macedonia, France, Belgium and El Salvador and he works with many established fashion and product designers. And besides all that, Salvator and his partner and assistant Peter Versnel have invested time and energy in the creation of their Male Photography Project.
The Male Photography Project – also known as MPP – is the perfect example of what Salvator Pozo believes in. He took the best that exists in male models and fashionable and athletic under- and swimwear, and made this better by combining these in high quality photography. Compositions that show a perfectly balanced harmony between the qualitative products and well shaped men. Sometimes edgy, sometimes just beautiful. Always tasteful, stylish and dramatic. His series with David Luis are but one example of the talent and vision of this Spanish artist. Well shaped and obviously very comfortable, David Luis is basking in Salvator Pozo’s spotlights against a backdrop of contemporary Dutch architecture, dresses in little more than exciting new products from underwear brands such as Antonio Sangoo, Dolce & Gabbana, Nasty Pig, Andrew Christian and ES Collection. Now tell me honestly, wouldn’t you like to have Salvator Pozo’s men on your wall for a full year? –BM-
