BORN YOUNGEST OF THREE IN AN AUSTRALIAN FAMILY, ARIAN WAS ENCOURAGED AT VERY YOUNG AGE TO PRACTICE SPORT AND WORK ON BOTH HIS PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH. CARING FOR HIMSELF, BOTH FOR HIS BODY AND THE SPIRIT THAT LIVES WITHIN, IS WHAT MAKES ARI STRONG. IT IS ALSO WHAT KEEPS HIS FEET ON THE GROUND, NO MATTER HOW HIGH HIS STAR RISES. QUITE LITERALLY THAT IS, BECAUSE ARIAN LEVANAEL IS AN INTERNATIONAL RENOWNED AERIAL ACROBAT.

About 30 years ago, Mircea Gheorghe saw the light of life in a small provincial town in Romenia. Like Arian Levanael, Mircea let his destiny at very young age, though his universe was very different. After discovering the photo camera of his mother, Mircea instinctively knew he had found his niche. Still, even though he knew some periods of extensive experimentation in his early childhood, it wasn’t before his 27th year that Mircea seriously started to think to transform this long lingering hobby into a real profession. He picked up his self studies where he left of some years before and soon learned it didn’t take much to reignite the flame of passion. Enchanted by the magic, he made the bold decision to leave every thing behind and move to New York to follow a study at the New York Institute of Photography. Which meant the end for free thinking for Mircea Gheorghe. From that moment on, all he could think about was the art of photography.

Growing up in Sydney, Arian Levanael learned to express himself not only though sports but also through theater. Inspired by the performing arts he formed a group with a number of friends and together they worked on choreographies and shows, often involving unusual elements such as water and fire. His aerial skills date back from this period of experimenting in different expressions, and something that seemed a natural evolution from his rich gymnastic background. In perfect harmony with his body and soul, Ari learned to amaze his audience with breathtaking performances, high in the sky, giving the impression that he has transformed himself into an ethereal being, flying without wings. The more he matured, the more Ari developed his spiritual self. Until he was ready to move on, take a bigger step, and changed his home country for the United Kingdom.

It didn’t take long for Mircea Gheorghe to find his true passion and inspiration. And when he found it, he found it in the art of immortalizing the beauty of the male physique. But, early trialist as he has always been, Mircea doesn’t do thing the way others do it. He has created his own very personal style.  Often shooting in black and white or a strongly de-saturated color scheme, Mircea knows as no other how to capture emotions and sensations with his photographic studies. Working with Arian Levanael, Mircea flawlessly felt the deeper personality this strong built athlete possesses and was able to create a series of photos so intense, so intimate, that it almost makes you feel embarrassed to look at them. As if you are are intruder in Ari’s most personal moments. Mircea created a camera obscura style portfolio that allows us, the viewer, to sneak peak in Arian’s self-moments, the moments when he is not standing in the spotlight, the moments that he has to reflect and find that inner balance.
Modesty is the citadel of beauty and that goes for both Arian Levanael and Mircea Gheorghe. Two men who are so talented yet so humble, keeping both feet on solid ground. Two men who are flying high in their respective performances and talents but at the very same time are down to earth. –BM-

I've had Ari as a teacher for Aerial Silks classes and he is indeed a beautiful soul wrapped in a sexy body. He's such a nice guy and he knows some scary tricks!
