IT IS NORMAL TO WONDER WHY BARBIE IS MISSING NIPPLES AND WHY KEN IS MISSING ESSENTIALS TO PEE, RIGHT? ALEXANDER GUERRA MADE THIS DISCOVERY AT EARLY AGE AND CAME TO REALIZE SOMETHING FOR SURE. HE KNEW THAT KEN LOOKED GREAT ON PAPER. HIS BABY BLUE EYES WERE PERFECTION AND HIS BONE STRUCTURE WAS FLAWLESS. HE WAS THE ULTIMATE DREAMBOAT MAKING G.I. JOE HIS ROUGHER MORE MUSCULAR COUNTERPART, BUT YOUNG AS HE WAS, ALEXANDER KNEW THAT IN REALITY THESE GUYS WERE INCOMPLETE. AND HE COULDN’T HELP WONDERING HOW HE COULD HELP THOSE GUYS OUT.
One afternoon, Alexander Guerra took a Red Crayola marker and two hand puppets out of his toy bin. The puppets were no where near “Dreamboat” doll material but even at 7 he was a firm believer in “Do what you can, where you are, with what you got”. One puppet was a rabbit and one was a bear. He painted nipples and a vagina on the rabbit and a penis and testicles on the bear. In his imagination, these poor creatures were now whole. They were now complete. Fast forward to the present Alexander now remembers that day vividly as most likely one of the most important days in his life. The day he learned that sexuality makes people complete.
Born from Cuban parents, Alexander Guerra lives and works in Miami Beach. It is here where he dreams his dreams and explores the infinite possibilities to immortalize them with his unlimited creativity. Over the past years the 27 year old artist has made international name with his multiple rabbit series. What started innocent – shooting self portraits with a rabbit mask on one of his many travels – turned out into a real obsession with rabbits and finally other animals and related subjects.
At the end of 2010, Alexander Guerra symbolically ended his first rabbit period by ‘killing’ the rabbits that were the first to take part in his creative explorations. Only to make place for a whole new generation. This time self-made masks of rabbits and other creatures, to be used for photographic portraits that would become more and more daring. With no lack of self-esteem, Alexander bravely put himself in photographic settings that are becoming more and more erotic. Suggestive. Yes, even provocative.
One of his latest endeavor is daring portfolio of portraits featuring himself and other models, wearing nothing more than an animal mask, which he baptized Furversions. What makes this series so different from his earlier rabbit work is the fact that all models wear toy animal masks, which create a shrill contrast with their very mature nakedness. Each individual set has its own title, starting with his own Doggie Style self portraits. The series reminds of Alexander Guerra’s very first creative adventure, when he sexualized his rabbit and bear puppet, but then in a very real and mature way. But what makes this set of photos really stand out is the Polaroid style Alexander used to finish them. It creates a rough, pure image that leaves very little to the imagination. It is the purest sexuality in a most anonymous way, and it shows that even as an adult today, Alexander Guerra is still strongly attached to his childhood curiosity. He still carries those fantasies and unanswered questions. Thankfully he is now able to answer and express those ideas and fantasies visually. And even though he no longer uses that Red Crayola marker, he still resonates in every image he creates. –BM-

Definitely not main stream attractive - Sorry this one is rather silly

I tend to disagree with former commenter. There is nothing silly about this series. In fact, though being one of those more 'out there' fetishes, the furries-fetish does exist. meaning some people do dress up as stuffed animals and have sex. I think Alexander Guerra did a wonderful job portraying this sexual behavior in a sober and non ridiculous way. Yes there is some fun in there, but that gives this set that typical Guerra touch. Bravo to the artist
