Once Upon a Time... Karim Konrad

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO WENT ON AN INCREDIBLE JOURNEY. INNOCENT AS HE WAS, KARIM, FOR THAT WAS HIS NAME, PUBLISHED PHOTO BOOK FOCUSED ON THE MEN OF HIS HOMETOWN OF THAT MOMENT, NAMED BERLIN GAY MATES. IT WAS HIS ENTRY INTO THE RABBIT HOLE OF UNBELIEVABLE MIRACLES.

Karim Konrad didn’t need a magic potion to grow larger than life. All he needed was his own creative vision and talent. Those were all the ingredients necessary to have him embark on his miraculous journey that would bring him all the way to the other end of the world. For the past few years, Karim has worked his magic in Australia, having Sydney locked in his heart as his new home base. And his magic works like nothing else, resulting is a large fan base not only Down Under but pretty much all over the globe. Karim has seen his work rapidly appearing in private collections as the collectibles they so deserve to be.
Not only has Karim Konrad a great eye when it comes to selecting models, he also always finds a way to make his imagery look like it has been touched by that same magic that has been present in his art from the very beginning. No matter if his portraits are filled with a bizarre collection of props in support of a his model in sometimes outrageous outfits and positions, or if his subject is a hot looking, testosterone radiating guy in a landscape that just seems to be out of perspective. Karim Konrad’s work characterizes itself through outstanding quality and the highest level of creativity.

Karim Konrad is from Persian origin but was born in Heidelberg, Germany. Before moving to Sydney, Australia, he lived in Berlin and last year, just before summer, he decided to return to this colorful Eastern European city. Having spend a few months there, Karim returned to his homebase in Australia, energized and ready to work more of his magic. Which resulted in the creation of another photo book, for which he is now looking for a publisher. Hopefully we will see more of Karim’s work in print soon.
