THE BELVEDERE GUEST HOUSE HAS BEEN A LANDMARK IN FIRE ISLAND NY FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND IS ONE OF THE FINEST GAY HOTELS IN THE CHERRY COVE COMMUNITY. WHEN APPROACHING THE BELVEDERE YOU LIGHT THING YOU MISTAKENLY ENDED UP IN VENICE INSTEAD OF FIRE ISLAND. THE GUESTHOUSE IS A STUNNINGLY ARCHITECTURAL MASTERPIECE THAT CLOSELY RESEMBLES A VENETIAN PALAZZO AND JUST THE LOOK OF IT ALREADY GIVES YOU AN INDICATION OF THE TREASURES YOU ARE ABOUT TO DISCOVER. LAST SUMMER, ONE OF THOSE TREASURES WAS GIO DELL.
Joseph Smileuske, New York State original and living in the city since 10 years, is no stranger when it comes to Fire Island. Not so strange considering Fire Island is after all the place to be for most gay New York residents during the hot summer months. Not just to relax, but also to socialize. It is here where you can meet people that you might never have met in the city. And so Joseph met Gio.
Gio Dell, born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, moved to New York City about 15 years ago and has lived in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen ever since. In his early days he worked as a construction worker, which might explain his well-developed muscles, but Gio has a lot more to offer than knowledge on building and demolishing. Next to his regular job, Gio attended acting school for several years and is now involved in coaching programs. He has a well developed sense for culture, loves going to the theatre and seeing films, enjoys good food and is always ready for a good game of baseball and can regularly be found regularly in the swimming pool. Being used to physical work, Gio has given up his construction work since long and turned his career in a very different direction. Gio Dell is now working as a rent boy.
The choice to start working as an escort was made out of necessity and came rather unexpected. After a break up Gio found himself without partner and without a job. Not knowing what to do to provide for himself short term, he made the bold decision to create a profile on Rentboy.com. Something that didn’t go by unnoticed. Gio had his first customer that very same day, and has been working as an escort every since. “For my first time I was a bit anxious, but when I met my first customer, it was nice and fun and I realized I could see myself doing this for a while,” Gio recalls. Giving the best service and guaranteeing his clients are satisfied is Gio’s top priority and to reach this objective he has worked hard to make sure that what ever is necessary, he has mastered the skill. One of those talents are giving the perfect massage. Apparently Gio has golden hands.
Recently Gio Dell was elected International Escort of the year 2010 and best Boyfriend Fantasy in that same year. Now for some this might sound as a joke, but the escort business is a serious business and being awarded for what you do best is quite an accomplishment and something Gio has worked hard for. One of the perks of his title is the fact Gio’s popularity has increased even more and his work brings him to many exotic destinations. Last summer he found himself in The Belvedere Guest House, working as a professional masseur. It was here where he met Joseph Smileuske.
Not entirely alien to photography and modeling – we did introduce Gio earlier while visiting Island House Key West after all – Gio Dell agreed to shoot with Joseph Smileuske. It isn’t too hard to find the perfect location in a place such as Fire Island. The Belvedere is of course top of the list, but Joseph also took Gio to the well-known nude beach The Pines to shoot a series of portraits. Good natured and serious in his work, Gio showed all without reserves, proofing once and for all that his title was a well deserved one. –BM-
