Paul Reiffer | Finger Lickin' Good

PAUL REIFFER’S JOURNEY HAS BEEN QUITE AN AMAZING ONE. WHILE GROWING UP HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN CONNECTION WITH TECHNOLOGY AND COMPUTERS, RESULTING IN PAUL BECOMING QUITE THE COMPUTER GEEK. NO WONDER HE PURSUED A CAREER IN IT, WHERE HE STILL WAS WHEN WE MET PAUL BACK IN 2008. NOW, 3 YEARS LATER HE IS QUITE THE PHOTOGRAPHER, HAVING GONE THROUGH THE EXERCISE OF MODELING HIMSELF AS WELL. AND NOT WITHOUT SUCCESS.

Paul Reiffer always found an excuse to skip physical exercise and extreme adventures at school. Naturally he is now a fanatic windsurfer and snowboarder, a licensed pilot and has embraced the act of sky diving. Why naturally? Because Paul is a man who cannot be put in one little box. Paul is a man who has learned to look for challenges and grab them with both hands. And – more over – turn them into personal victories and success. Which, professionally, brought him eventually from computer technology, through modeling to the art of photography.

Paul’s fresh look on photography has in the relatively shot time he is active in the field landed him some interesting assignments already. So when the guys from Lick Underwear were looking for a new direction in their campaigns – nothing too extreme but just a bit different - they rapidly ended up with Paul Reiffer. Paul rounded up three new models for the brand and shot a whole portfolio of classic underwear photographs topped with that typical Paul Reiffer attitude. First in line is Nathan, a fresh model with the right attitude and the right shape. Getting the classic underwear poses fast out of the way, Paul started experimenting a bit more. Different styles, different treatments, different poses and different locations.

Two of our personal favorites are definitely those where Nathan poses against the wall in the stairwell outside of Paul’s studio, the waistband of his jockstrap smarty integrated in the handrail and thus making Nathan almost an architectural feature. Paul himself favors the more vintage looking black & white shot simply because it is different from anything else he had done before. Seeing this as a starter, we cann’t wait to see the result of the other two shootings Paul Reiffer did for the british underwear brand. For sure it will be finger lickin’ good. –BM-
