WHEN WE WERE KIDS WE PARTICIPATED IN SEVERAL SPORT ACTIVITIES. WE DID JUDO, SWIMMING GYMNASTICS. IT WAS PART OF OUR EDUCATION. BUT IT WASN’T THE BIG PART OF LIFE AS IT IS NOW. OVER THE PAST FEW DECADES WORKING OUT HAS DEVELOPED ITSELF FROM AN EDUCATIONAL MUST INTO A TRUE LIFESTYLE.
We can come up with many reasons for the ongoing trend of working out. Jane Fonda and Olivia Newton John are two of them. The many beautiful bodies we are exposed to in all kinds of media another. And of course the wish to live a healthier life. It is true that over the past decades we have learned more about nutrition and have become more aware of how we live our lives, although you might question if that trend wasn’t a logic follow up of the fitness movement that took of in the 1980s. But no matter what it was, our lives have changed and so have our bodies.
It has been said that the more time you spend in a gym, the more addicted you become to working out. As long as you funnel it into the right channels, its OK. Jose Ortiz certainly knows how to do it. This 28 years old Texan from Puerto Rican origin is one of those who have embraced the gym and body building lifestyle to its fullest. Having mastered all aspects of fitness, Jose does now not only spend time in the gym to work on his own physique, but can also be spotted training and coaching others. That is if he isn’t modeling.
One of the logic results of the fitness and body building culture is the increase of fitness models. Logic because if you work so hard to bring your body to perfection, why not share it with the rest of the world. Now not everyone who works out has the right personality to work as a model. Jose Ortiz however most certainly does. Not only is his body to die for, Jose also has the right attitude. Easy to work with and with the natural ability to adjust himself to every possible situation a photographer creates. The fact Jose also has a look that makes you melt instantly when his gaze falls upon you doesn’t hurt either of course.
For Eric Ganison, born and raised in Massachusetts but living and working in Dallas, the shoot with Jose Ortiz in and outside a small cabin somewhere in the southeast of Texas was not his first one. It is however a first outside of the studio. We are not exactly sure where Eric shot Jose, but if you want to find out, it shouldn’t be too difficult. Just check the temperature charts of southeast Texas from over the past few months. If you see a peak guaranteed that is where Eric Ganison’s cabin fever hit. –BM-
