The Man behind the Mask

RISING FROM THE SCRAPS LIKE A PHOENIX FROM THE FLAMES COMES A MAN WHOSE PHYSICAL PRESENCE EMBODIES BEAUTY AND SENSUALITY. HIDDEN BEHIND A MASK HE LETS HIS BEAUTY MATURE UNTIL IT IS TIME TO REVEAL HIMSELF. WHEN THE WORLD IS READY TO BE EXPOSED TO THIS CREATURE OF SEXUALITY AND DESIRE.

Barquisimeto is the capital of Lara State and head of the Iribarren Municipality. Those good in geography probably already figured out where Barquisimeto is located. For those who aren’t, let me help you. Barquisimeto is the fourth largest city in Venezuela, after Caracas, Maracaibo and Valencia. It is an important urban, industrial and commercial city and also the transportation centre of the country. Asides from that it is also the birthplace of Ismael Duin, currently residing in Houston, Texas. 26 years old, this man with the lizard tattoo is the proud new centrefold for Bayou Beau underwear and partners in that role with photographer CC Brooks.

Living in Montgomery, Texas, birthplace of the Texan flag, CC Brooks started photography while being in 6th grade. It was at this time in his life that he, a 11 years old boy, astonished the world by participating to an international photo exhibition in the Houston George R. Brown Convention Center with photographs that allowed the adult audience to look at everyday things so easily overlooked by grown ups. CC Brooks lmater graduated from the Art Institute of Houston and has been pushing his creativity to undiscovered heights ever since. Resulting in some very rewarding publications in renowned magazines worldwide. “My life experiences have allowed my eye to see what no one else can see,” CC Brooks explains. “This comes from my adventures in this world, both good and bad. It allows me to form a story that is captured with such attention to detail. Now, that envelope is being reshaped into more elaborate shots that changes the images of peoples life one shutter flick at it time.”

Especially for BeautifulMag, CC Brooks transformed Ismael Duin in a muse from the scraps who emerges in a sexy creature. He hides behind the mask until he feels safe to emerge himself to the world. The Spartan inspired shoot is exhibiting the strength of the mighty man. “Ismael’s inspiring body makes for a great concept where the old meets the new and powerful. Out of the scraps rises a man that is afraid to show himself until the very end where he takes the mask off and shows the world. He pulls the sensuality and high level of sex appeal to you by capturing your attention with his unique posing and amazing body strength.” As mentioned before, Ismael Duin models for the American underwear company Bayou Beau and has the perfect body to do so. Not surprisingly so since Ismael also works as personal trainer in Houston. This mythical shoot is not the first in which Ismale partners with CC Brooks. Together they have workd on several occasions and an implied series of Ismael Duin by CC Brooks will be on display from September 18 to 26 in the Houston Gallery, Houstan, Texas. –BM-
