WHEN ASKED WHY HE CHOOSE THIS KIND OF EFFECT ON HIS PHOTOGRAPHS OF FELIX BARCA, PHOTOGRAPHER MAGIC EXPLAINED THAT HE WAS LOOKING FOR A WAY TO MERGE REALITY WITH FANTASY. A BARIER THAT COULD HAVE MULTIPLE MEANINGS. BUT KNOWING FELIX, WE COULD SEE SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT IN THESE IMAGES.
Felix Barca works all over the world, lives in Cologne, Germany but was born originally in Barcelona Spain. Which obviously explains his self-chosen name. In 2010 Felix made his debut in the adult industry at the age of 35 and his star has been growing ever since. No wonder because with his versatile appetite, Felix is ready to try anything new.
We have all been there. That one moment of ultimate pleasure, of reaching a climax and experiencing that mindblowing feeling. It is that moment that for just a few seconds, the world shifts and tilts, when you see colors and shapes in the inside of your eyes. Felix Barca definitely is the embodiment of ultimate pleasure, so is it so strange that Magic was inspired to treat his photos with such colourful, dazzling and hallucinating graphics? No, not really.
So when we spoke to photographer Magic he told us that he chose to give his portraits of Felix Barca a special treatment to create a cybernetic veil that separates us from the beautiful faces, idealised bodies and sex full of pathos, it was exactly that that came to our mind. These portraits show a merging of real and ideal: the barrier between public and private; the carnal and the sublime. A beautiful initiative and with a beautiful result. And the perfect way to visualize Felix Barca for what he stands for. The embodiment of ultimate pleasure. –BM-
