EDITOR'S LETTER
Madonna is being sued by the St Petersburg court. Not so much for having broken Russian law when she spoke out in favor of homosexuality and the right to choose, but because apparently when she did so she irrevocably damaged the feelings of a handful of people. You might ask yourself in what world are we living today. This is after all the 21st century. How is it possible governments and religions are still dictating our very existence. But be aware, this behavior can be nearer than you think. In a few days America will go to the polls to elect their next President and if things go wrong that Russian scenario might very well become reality in the west as well.
It has become colder again. After a late outburst of almost summer-like weather, the temperatures have dropped dramatically. And while I’m writing this and look outside the window on this early morning, I notice a lonely snowflake falling down. I can’t shake the feeling that the forces of nature are gathering and are getting ready to cover our part of the world under an early blanket of snow. Beautiful at first, but oh so cold. While seasons are changing, the world goes on but lately the changes that come with the turning of the globe are not always promising a glorious future. I can’t help thinking that winter is truly coming, but I also have hope in my heart. Because no matter how cold a winter, eventually the snow will melt and make place for beautiful spring flowers. –BM-
