WHILE GAZING OUT OVER PARIS, MIRCIUS AECRIM’S EYES CAME TO REST UPON ARMANDO SANTOS. YOUNG, BEAUTIFUL, SEXY AND DARK, ARMANDO IS WITHOUT DOUBT ONE OF THE MORE REMARKABLE CHARACTERS IN THE PARISIAN MODELING AND GAY SCENE. RECENTLY CROWNED AS THE MAN OF THE MONTH SEPTEMBER BY FRENCH GAY LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE TÊTU, AND IN THE RACE FOR MISTER TÊTU 2012, ARMANDO POSED FOR MIRCIUS, SHOWING HIS MOST INTIMATE SIDE.

We were like a fly on the wall when Mircius Aecrim picked up his camera and directed his lens towards Armando Santos. While the traffic outside raced around Paris’s Place de la Republique it was as if a blanket of silence settled over our apartment in which we were simply quiet observers. Speechless for obvious reasons. There was a moment of magic during the session, that seemed to last forever. 

Armando Santos was born in Belgium in 1986 but has since exchanged his place of birth for the French capital city Paris. It is here where he grew up and it is here where he dreams of a career in international modeling. Armando’s dark masculine look is the result of a mixture of Lebanese and Portuguese origin. Needless to say that wherever this 26-year old headturner goes, he is good for more then a handful of admiring gazes.

Blessed with his dark Mediterranean looks and an athletic body that is the result of years of soccer training, Armando knows how to work his charm. He seems to put a spell on people wherever he goes. His face framed with dark hair and his piercing black eyes give him the look of a predator, but Armando is kind at heart and there isn’t a bad bone in his body. His charming and sexy appearance contradicts his silent – yes – almost shy presence. Working with him is like working a miracle. He is ambitious and professional, and knows what he wants. About his work with Mircius Aecrim, Armando said: “This experience was very rich. It was wonderful to work with such a professional photographer who is so passionate about artistic male photography in black and white.”

Armando Santos was the third model Mircius Aecrim worked with during his recent visit to Paris, and he has warm memories of this collaboration: “It was exciting to work with Armando. His mixed background has given him such a unique look. His Mediterranean genes work the camera like nothing else and he seems to be a challenger to the ancient Greek Gods when it comes to perfection in beauty.” Armando does not only have the looks. His presence also seems to trigger an electric pulse of eroticism, which is probably fed by his own sexual awareness. “I left my home when I was 15 years old, to live with my older lover. It was a dangerous relationship due to my age, but it also gave me the confidence of my own sexuality.”

With so much to go for one might wonder, what makes his look in Mircius’ camera so melancholic. Seeing Armando sitting on the edge of the bed or staring out of the window, you can’t help wondering what goes through his mind. Is he thinking of time gone by, the events that shaped his young life so far? Or is he dreaming of a future, wondering what life still has to bring him in the many years to come? Whatever it is Armando Santos is dreaming about, we are able to share this intimate moment thanks to the talent of Mircius Aecrim who so beautifully immortalized young Armando for the rest of his life. –BM-
