We are living in a society where men are no longer ignorant about the way they look. They work out to stay in shape, and spend time to make sure they dress and look good. Today there are many more male models who want to be photographed in ways that are just as honest, intimate, bold, sexy and glamorous as the way female models have been immortalized for decades. Photographer JR Williams has made it his objective to do so, while making sure his men still retain their own unique and masculine identity.
JR Williams is originally from the Chicago area but has since long changed the Windy City for a life in Honolulu. Here he works on his photography, which he often exercises in an editorial style that allows him to tells the story of this current generation shift in male models. “I view my job as one in which I try to be the story teller and to help models access their own talents and abilities for all the world to appreciate,” JR Williams says. “I do my best not to stand in the way of the model's self-expression because, after all, it is the model's story.” JR Williams did exactly that while working with his model Chris.
JR Williams discovered 21 years old Chris while he was working as a barista in a coffee shop. Impressed by his looks he decided to approach Chris and propose a shooting. Chris had never modeled before but has that natural charisma that works so well on film. JR decided to show Chris’ different sides, sharp dressed both in clothes and only underwear. And it proofs the statement that sharp dressed man are irresistible, and the fact that there is a lot of man hiding under these layers of clothes. Chris’ underwear for this shoot was b provided by Andrew Makay from N2N Bodywear and obviously Chris wears it well. Especially for his very first publication on BeautifulMag, Chris happily strips down and shows how much sexy he has to offer. And besides these portraits, you can see more of Chris on JR Williams website, as well as purchase some of his photos. –BM-
