We are truly in a unique position. To receive and see so many wonderful photographs from just as many talented artists. It is an honor, really. It gives you the feeling of being a treasure guard. And that is exactly how we felt when Tony Veloz sent us his recent work with Rico G.
There are some model agencies that are renowned all over the world. To sign up with such an agency is the dream of many who have their mind set upon a modeling career. Because they open the doors to great photographers and clients. Tony Veloz is such a photographer, and he is known to work with the best that agencies such as Wilhelmina, Elite and IMG have to offer. Working with Tony is almost a guarantee to have your photos published in countless online magazines as well as in print. And that than works both ways. Because Tony is also able to get the hottest models.
Originally from Texas, Tony Veloz currently resides in Washington DC. Tony started to photograph by shooting portraits and commercial work, but his interest in art, fashion and music drove him to always add a different angle to his work. It was this little personal touch that eventually triggered the interest of agencies and clients. On his website it is written that Tony is addicted to light, color, vividness and detail. There are worse tings to be addicted to. It also states that Tony has an extraordinary eye for capturing beauty and fashion. Though this is a subjective opinion, I do tend to agree with it. And his recent work with Rico only proofs it.
Norfolk, Virginia is probably not the first city that comes to mind when considering a blooming career in modeling. Still this is where Rico G lives. Though many would say it would be best to live close to the beating heart of the industry, Rico proofs that it really doesn’t matter. As long as you are willing to make the effort of traveling and be at the right place at the right time. Oh yes, and having the looks certainly helps as well. Obviously looking as Rico does, it doesn’t really matter where you live. Rico G is 25 years old, stands 5’ 9”/ 1,75 m tall and weights 165 lbs/75 kg. His height might not be the ‘ideal’ when it comes to modeling, his Puerto Rican/Colombian masculine looks more then make up for that. Rico is a student but also bartends at a premier nightclub called Granby Theater and has a job as dental assitant. Where we don't say out of fear of creating a riot on front of teh dental office. So you see, we truly are privileged when we have the chance to see these kind of photos first. And its even more gratifying to have the chance to share it with all of you. Tony Veloz is a MASTER! Truly one of the best photographers in the area - it's intimidating to be an artist in the same city as this extraordinary talent. Gorgeous work.

I photographed Rico back in October of 2010. I think it was the first time he had ever done any modeling. He was terrific back then and has only gotten better! (You can see some of the shots we did on my Model Mayhem page - Woody Norvell Images.) I belileve he has a great future in the business!
