East of the City of London and north of the Thames River lies the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Covering most of London’s famous East End, it also includes the redeveloped Docklands and Canary Wharf? Being one of the two of London’s financial centers, Canary Wharf contains many of the United Kingdom’s tallest buildings. It basically is London’s little Manhattan. This mini jungle of steel, glass and concrete is not only home to many banks, companies and shops. It is also home for Cedric Andries.
Now you might think that the name Cedric Andries does not have a very Anglo-Saxon ring to it, and you are very right about that. Cedric is one of those who took the advantage of this open Europe and moved to the United Kingdom from his homeland Belgium. Cedric origins from Antwerp, and exciting city by itself already. In Antwerp Cedric studied Fashion Technology and Retail Management in which he graduated last year. After his graduation he decided to cross the English Channel and try his luck in the British capital.
Although he approached us to see if it would be possible to have his work featured, modeling has never really been a priority for Cedric Andries. As mentioned before, Cedric currently lives in London’s Canary Wharf and what he is looking for is a job in fashion buying. Until then works he works part-time in a menswear store in Covent Garden and combines this with modeling. And in the free time that he has left he goes to the gym, he runs, he plays tennis, he likes to eat out and visit the cinema.
Cedric Andries has his mind set upon a career in fashion. He studied for it, works in a menswear store and models fashion. All that to get the feeling for the industry, meet interesting people and to work his way toward that opportunity that will launch his career in the direction he wants it to take. Though modeling was never a priority, it seems though that other people think otherwise. And that is not so strange. Just look at the guy. Standing 1.80 meters (5’ 11”) tall and with short brown hair and piercing green eyes, he is the dream of many photographer and has that classic look that could make him a very successful fashion model. Only 22 years old, Cedric has already worked with a long list of renowned photographers and his willingness to work in many different disciplines has resulted in a portfolio that is diverse and exciting. Maybe this article will help Cedric to meet even more interesting people, and possibly open a door to the fashion industry he so much desires. But we most certainly also hope that it will also bring him to more photographers because Cedric definitely belongs in front of the camera. –BM-
