He was born in Kew, Surrey, which lies in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in South West London, but if you ask him where he is from he tends to say that he belongs nowhere in particular. Alexander Hughes currently resides in the city of Oxford but has indeed traveled so much with his family while growing up that it seems hard to pin him down to a certain place. Still Alexander cherishes special memories to one place in particular: “The highlight was growing up in Bethesda, an affluent suburb of Maryland close to Washington DC. I'm sure I had perhaps the best adolescence one could ask for.”
Alexander Hughes is a busy and successful man. Only 25 years old he heads up P.R. for a large non-profit UK-based organization near Oxford, which involves liaising with the press, a degree of events planning and just general shmoozing with it’s members. Not an easy job but asides from the obvious talent Alexander has to do it, he also has the looks to get the work done. Also something he has worked – and still does – hard for. Alexander is also a qualified personal trainer but currently offers his services in that area only to high-end clients in order to keep some control over his busy professional and personal life. Alexander is a most social person and in his free time he likes to hang with other people and visit many different places in order to constantly broaden his perspective. Music lover as he also is, he enjoys live music and often frequents gigs and festivals.
When Alexander the Great lived his successful life it must have been strange for him. To be such an inspirational and aspirational leader at such young age in a world of adult warriors. Alexander Hughes feels a bit similar: “I'm 25 years old, though caught in a strange period in my life. I feel like a lost boy at times, living in a world of adults where I'm expected to act a certain way and conform to a certain ideal. I prefer to go against that grain.”
Photographer Nige Rorbach is not afraid to say that sometimes it is hard to find new inspiration. Indeed, at times it can take him months to find someone who triggers of ideas in his head. But when he first saw Alexander Hughes through his model portfolio, Nige knew straight away he could work miracles with this amazing young man. “What attracted me to working with him is the passion and enthusiasm that he has, and obviously his stunning face and physique. Alexander has already worked with some fantastic photographers, including Dylan Rosser and Justin Tayler, and so I knew he could deliver outstanding images.” Alexander shares Nige’s enthusiasm claiming that the photographers vision and high working standard got him really excited and that while working together they bounced off so many ideas that there certainly will be a follow up of this collaboration. Yes, sometimes you just happen to stumble upon people who are so radiant and full of energy that no matter what they do, they inspire you. –BM-
