They say that in Texas everything is bigger. I don’t know who they are, but they might be right with their statement. For starts the state by itself. If you would overlay it on Europe it would cover the whole of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic, half of Italy, France, Belgium and The Netherlands, and bite of a piece of Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia as well. Indeed Texas is the second largest state in the USA. What else is bigger in Texas. Steaks are bigger, as are BBQ’s. Population is bigger with three out of four of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Rodeo’s and music festivals are bigger. Boots are bigger. Hats are bigger. Even hair is bigger. Now I don’t know if this is just a fable or if there is some truth in it, but I can tell you one thing. If they talk about things being bigger in Texas they certainly got that right when it comes to Andrew Morrill.
Nige Rorbach came upon Andrew Morrill through Twitter. Checking out his avatar it was obviousl to Nige that Andrew was quite stunning. They got to talking and bounce some ideas around for a possible photo shoot. Nige recalls: “His passion and interest in modeling was really clear right from the outset, which just made me even more inspired and interested in getting a shoot booked as soon as possible. With Andrew looking like an Adonis, with beautiful blue eyes and a stunning, matinee idol face, it was easy to come up with ideas that would show him at his best.” But the issue was the distance.
Ok I know what you think. Nige Rorbach resides in the UK and Andrew is a Texan. What we didn’t tell you yet is that Andrew Morrill currently lives in London, where he ended up earning an MBA from Kingston Business School. So the distance we are really talking about wasn’t exactly a huge obstacle. Nige lives and works in Crewe which is about 275 kilometers North West from London, so even though not next door, also not impossible. Which probably is what Andrew thought as he decided to hop on a train and travel north. "When the day finally arrived, both of us were excited about meeting and working together, and I have to say that right from the second we met, it was as if we had known each other for years. To say working with Andrew is easy would be an understatement. He is really friendly, well prepared and takes very little direction. The ideas flowed really easily between us, and it's been a long time since I worked with someone so natural on set, especially someone that I hadn't worked with or spoken to before."
Andrew Morrill is a 3rd generation Texan, born and bred, and grew up partly in San Antonio and his family ranch in South Texas. Now 28 years old, Andrew grew up a skinny teen obsesses with seeing big fitness guys and the idea of one day looking like that. And so he started to go to the gym and as it always goes, when he started to see the first results, there was no stopping him. Andrew has truly transformed himself and is curious to find out how far he can go. For sure he is the embodiment of what makes Texas bigger. Working with Nige Rorbach was a pleasure for Andrew: “His level of preparation was top notch and allowed us to work quickly. As a model it really helps me to get feedback as the shoot is going on - really helps me build momentum if we get a good shot. Nige was great at that.”
After his previous project The Age of Man, Nige Rorbach currently works on his new project, named The Utopia Project. His work with Andrew Morrill is part of it. NIge continues: “Both Andrew and myself wanted to create fun, and sexy images, and the direction my recent work is going is much more colorful than previous works, simply because I want my imagery to evolve constantly. Needless to say, Andrew has cemented his place in the Immortal Images family, and we're already discussing ideas for our next few shoots later in the year." Not much for us to add to that, except maybe: Yeehaw… Go Texas… -BM-
