ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE FREQUENT FLYERS WHO ALWAYS IGNORE THE ONBOARD SAFETY RULES EXPLANATIONS? EITHER BY VERY OBVIOUSLY DOING SOMETHING ELSE, OR BECAUSE YOU JUST DON’T CARE? NEXT TIME, DON’T. OF COURSE IT IS IMPORTANT TO PAY ATTENTION WHEN A FLIGHT ATTENDANT EXPLAINS THE WORKINGS OF THE OXYGEN MARK, EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE SEEN IT MANY TIMES BEFORE. IT ALSO SHOWS A LITTLE RESPECT FOR THOSE WHOSE JOB IT IS TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR SAFETY AND COMFORT. AND IF THAT REALLY ISN’T ENOUGH REASON, THAN JUST LOOK. YOU MIGHT BE SO LUCKY TO SEE LEE BERLIN IN FRONT OF YOU.
Dave Ouano is a photographer who lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. Focusing on fashion, fitness and portrait work, Dave also likes to spend time doing artistic work. His own acting and modelling background are most likely the foundation for that, and so it is not surprising that for that specific type of work, Dave always selects models who have some level of acting and dance experience. Asides from following a few classes here and there, Dave is pretty much all self-taught, which has resulted in his own unique signature style. In other words, if you are selected by Dave for a shoot, you can consider yourself lucky.
Lee Berlin considers himself lucky. Lee was born and raised in California, growing up in the northern Yosemite foothills. Obviously nature and wildlife have been a huge part of his life. Lee has loved every minute of it. In his early adult years he moved to San Diego where he went to university and majored in criminology and police science. A very interesting direction if you ask me, and I’m sure Lee agrees. Still, he started his career working in the travel industry right after graduating and that has defined his life ever since.
Working for an airline company, Lee Berlin is always on the go. And that is a good thing as he loves to travel. His job also allows him a few months off a year, which he uses to explore new countries and destination. Obviously he also uses some of that time to work on his amazing physiques and bringing that to use in front of the camera. Dave Ouano’s in this particular case. Dave shot Lee in Minibar, a small club in Chicago and the whole setting was done in a very de-saturated color scheme which adds a certain calm and sobriety to these shots.
Now some people think working as a flight attendant is an easy job to do. Personally I couldn’t disagree more. I have the highest respect for those working the airplanes, serving on people and dealing with the most horrible demands and demanding characters. Plus, physically it isn’t so easy to always be in the air. Lee Berlin keeps himself in top condition by practicing a variety of sports. Sure there is fitness, but Lee also plays basketball, loves cross training and even finds satisfaction in martial arts, gymnastics, yoga, climbing and crossfit. Another most interesting fact about Lee is that he designs patterns for modern quilted blankets which he than construct for his own label based in san Franscisco. See, there is a lot more going on behind that calming expression on Lee Berlin’s face. So next time, when you buckle up, please do pay attention to those standing in front of you. You might even be so lucky to find Lee there. –BM-
