IT WAS A TROUBLED TIME, A TIME OF CHANGE. THERE WAS A NEW DIVINE ORDER, LED BY ZEUS THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WERE SEEKING TO OVERTHROW THE EXISITING OLDER ORDER OF GODS. A GREAT BATTLE WAS UNEVITABLE AND SO THESE GOLDY CREATURES DESCENDED ON EARTH WHERE THEY CHALLENGED THEIR ADVERSARIES. THE BATTLE WAS GREAT AND THE VERY LAND FELT THE BURNT OF THEIR DIVINE CONFRONTATION. AND THE NAME OF THE SITE OF THIS MOST GRUESOME MYTHIC WAR WAS MYKONOS.
Picturesque beauty, mythical heritage, white beaches and a blue sea. It all comes together under the warm glow of the golden Greek sun and makes Mykonos one of the most popular European vacation destinations. By far the most cosmopolitan place in the Cyclades Islands, Mykonos is famous for its crisp white village, fine dining and booming nightlife. Mykonos has a history for gay tolerance that dates back to ancient times and offers a true nonjudgmental hospitality to the gay tourist of today. Since the 1950’s the island knows an open-mindedness of the local residents that allows an opportunity for a gay lifestyle and freedom that is rarely found anywhere else in the world.
Mykonos knows many hotels but one of the better ones is without doubt the Rochari Hotel. The Rochari, which characterizes itself by its traditional Mykonian-style architecture, is located just a few minutes walk to the town center and the old port of the village. More over, the Rochari Hotel is situated on a hillside, built in rising tiers of rooms with balconies that gives its guests not only a magnificent view over the South Aegean Sea, but also on each other. But what makes Rochari really special is that the hotel is wholly owned and run by the Kousathanas family, who have been able to create a most intimate and cosy atmosphere for their clientele which is exclusively gay. It is this special ambience and friendly character that makes their gay guests want to return year after year. Because with its light and airy breakfast room, an interior bar and pool bar, and several terraces each with a magnificent view over Mykonos and the azure sea, the Rochari Hotel is an unique place for creating new friendships and rekindling old ones.
The Rochari Hotel offers several accommodation options to suit your needs, varying from single rooms, double rooms and triple rooms to a luxurious suite. The hotel has a private parking and offers a rental service for ATV’s, scooters and cars, giving you the opportunity to explore the island at your own convenience. There is also a bus stop near by where you can find transportation to the well known gay beaches Elia Beach and Super Paradise Beach. Or, if you prefer, you could spend your day at the hotel, lounging at the poolside and making new friends. The evening presents itself with the famous Mykonos sunset, which can be appreciated at the Rochari on their panorama terrace, enjoying an aperitif, before heading in town to explore the many small restaurants in Little Venice and, later at night, the various music and dance bars. If you seek a relaxing gay vacation, with sun, beach and good company - in other words, if you want to feel like a god -Mykonos and definitely the Rochari Hotel is the place for you. –BM-
